"Insider Gordon Polatnick offers a fabulous
introduction to the Harlem jazz scene with walking
and bus tours that typically take in some of the lesser-known clubs and plenty
of jazz history.
"My favorite thing about this place is that it kinda acts as a hang out for
everyone
in the neighborhood who gives a fuck about the past, present, and uncertain
future of Harlem. I ended up getting into this crazy 25 minute
conversation
with a lady about the politics of gentrification in New York. It's strange
to be
in Harlem right now and watch the neighborhood change right in front of your
eyes.
